* * * www.virginiamayhew.com A site about Virginia Mayhew, tenor saxophonist, who I am in contact with. Listen to the songs on the CDs Sandan Shuffle and Nini Green. I like especially the song Voyage, on Nini Green. www.juniormance.com The official site of Junior Mance, whom I saw at a master-class in Jerusalem. Look at his discography. www.diannereeves.com Dianne Reeves is my favorite female vocalist. Look for the album A Little Moonlight and listen to the song Loads of Love. www.bradmehldau.com A site about pianist Brad Mehldau. Listen to the song Dusty McNugget. Ignore the tattoo. www.yuseflateef.com A very nice site about a great saxophonist Yusef Lateef. I saw Lateef with the Belmondos in Tel Aviv. I love the way he plays the flute and gets all sorts of magical sounds out of it. www.kennygarrett.com Kenny Garrett is one of my truly favorite saxophonists. Unfortunately, there is no sample of my favorite song, Happy People. I heard him play this wonderfully in Tel Aviv. www.matthewshipp.com This is the official site of my favorite pianist, Matthew Shipp. I like him because of his avant-garde music. www.johnscofield.com A site about guitarist John Scofield. Listen to the songs So Sue Me and Flower Power. www.philwoods.com I saw Phil Woods in concert in Tel Aviv. It was a great concert and he did some incredible solos. www.robertogatto.com A site about the Italian drummer, Roberto Gatto. I saw him in a concert in Jerusalem, with pianist Danilo Rea. www.paquitodrivera.com Paquito d’Rivera is the first jazz great I saw live. He played with pianist Alon Yavnai. www.diamandagalas.com This is a site about avant-garde singer Diamanda Galas. I like her crazy stuff. Try to find her version of Ornette Coleman’s Lonely Woman. www.carlacook.com I like Carla Cook a lot. Follow the Music link and listen to the song It Is All About Love. www.joelfrahm.com A great site about Joel Frahm. I saw him at a master-class in Jerusalem and I played All the Things You Are with him. www.tzadik.com This is a great site about saxophonist John Zorn.
